Dear Cactus Ranch Family,

 

Whether you are new to Cactus Ranch, or have been here for a few years, welcome! I hope your summer has been amazing and that everyone is ready for a wonderful year of working and learning together.  I am excited to be back for my 11th year at Cactus Ranch and am delighted to be your child's first grade teacher.  Cactus Ranch is such a wonderful place to work and learn, and I am grateful for the opportunity to spend my days with such a friendly staff and such amazing families!

 

My name is Krista Thompson; I was born in Houston and moved to Round Rock when I was in 5th grade and I am a product of the Round Rock School District. I then continued on to Texas State University in San Marcos to pursue my teaching degree. I graduated December 2007 with honors, receiving a bachelor of science in Elementary Education. I am currently certified to teach early childhood education through 8th grade. I am married to Bryan Thompson who also teaches in RRISD and we have two sweet boys, Brayden (7 years old) and Brody (3 years old) who are our pride and joy! I absolutely love teaching first grade and I am very excited for what the year has in store for us!

 

It is very important to me that your child has a positive and enjoyable learning experience in first grade. It is my goal to create a classroom community in which every student can succeed and excel.  I value your opinions as a parent, and understand that it is important for us to communicate and work together to support your child’s growth and learning. I have had such wonderful experiences working with Cactus Ranch families, and I know this year will be the same.  I am truly looking forward to building a relationship with you and your child.
